Loving two at a Time

I watched my favorite soap opera on tv yesterday called Tinsel. After today’s edition , an argument of sorts ensued about the last scene. It goes like this. A married man, Regi had an affair with his PA who got pregnant. He was at a bar discussing what to do with her with the lady’s friend, because of the pregnant woman’s mental health problem.
Regi overheard a waiter giving advice to young man about his friend’s girlfriend. The young man said his best friend is dating a mentally deranged girl and wondered what to tell him, and the waiter (the love doctor of the show) advised him to tell his friend to run for his dear life.
Now this man, Reginald called him over and said it was insensitive and cruel, adding that there were two sides to every story; which made his drinking partner to observe that he was still in love with his pregnant mistress. It is an interesting soap, so check your DSTV guide for details of the time for Tinsel.
The argument was whether it is true that the man was in love with the pregnant lady. My take was that he wasn’t. He just cared for her
1. As a woman he dated before
2. A woman he claimed to have loved even if to get what he wanted
3. A woman carrying his baby
That was my reasons because I’ve watched many films and we usually discuss after. There have been several film where the fiancée refuses to go ahead with a a wedding another lady got pregnant for her man. The man will beg and beg and she will refuse, some end happily, others don’t end so happily.
But what I learned from all that is that men usually love the one they want to marry or the one they are married to. Any other one is a mistake (at least so they say), that they are silly to make and cause problems for the women folk. I also believe that one cannot be in love with two different people at the same time, at least not with the same intensity.
So unless, the man was forced to marry am woman (that still happen in this age?), or he has stopped loving his wife, another woman getting pregnant for him shouldn’t dissolve his marriage. He made the mistake, so he should take responsibility; he should be made to, for the woman and her child.
But his wife shouldn’t leave, especially if he apologies and explains and promises no to do such again. He will take proper care of his mistress and the child but not at the expense of his wife and children or fiancée as the case may be.
That is what I think, what of you? What do you think? What will you do if you are a woman and in such a position, will you leave your man? If you are planning to marry and someonelse gets pregnant for you will leave your love and marry the pregnant one?
I love to hear your comments.

I got the best answer in Yahoo Answers

Yes I really did. My answer was chosen among other answers. This is not the first time it is happening to me, but it’s been a while that happened. And I am so excited.

You can check the question:
What would be your best advice for LDRs? (Long distance relationships)?

Yeah that’s me. My picture. I ‘m a bomb aint I. Yeah. Anyway I won. So let me celebrate, pop the champagne, jump around, do a little victory dance as yahoo instructed me. Ha ha a ha.

You know I truly, sincerely, totally believe everything That I wrote there. Oh yeah I believe that love is be all and end all of any relationship. The reason I wrote that answer wasn’t because I wanted to be chosen as the best, no it was mainly because of two reasons
1- I really believe anyone in such situation can work things out, if only that’s what they want.
2- I am in one. Um-hu. I am in a long distance relation ship, so I know where it pinches most.

My dearest lives in... well we are two countries apart. It hurts but we agreed that it’s the best situation right now. Definitely we won’t continue like this, we’ll stat living together soon. As that is the ideal, couples should stay together always. But sometimes circumstances don’t always align well for everybody so that in the beginning you both need to adjust.

Like I wrote, with love as the number ingredient one you’ll make. Love is at the beginning, middle and end of any relationship. The end being in your ripe old age. As long as there is true love, there will be mutual respect and understanding between the two of you and then you are set.

Again remember to keep the flame of love alive all the time. Send eh text messages. Not just “how was your day text” but also “missing you text”. Also sexy messages are allowed make it steamy, hot.

Don’t miss the phone calls, very important. Use emails and chat online whenever possible. Let’s stop here for now.

Next time I’ll get into the pros and cons of LDR(Long-distance –relationships). Meanwhile what do you think? Is there any more factors that need to be added to make it work? Do you even think it can work? Your comments are highly appreciated. Thanks.
